Will you send me a proposal before I commit to working with you?
Absolutely. Requests for website design will be followed up with a website design planner. The planner will allow us to determine the scope of your project and technical needs so that we can design an efficient package for you. A basic quote for your project (an estimate based on our experience and the information provided) and expected time-line will be provided in a custom Project Proposal.
Eat Paint Studio analyzes your completed web planner and researches the links that you have provided to sites you like/don’t like, competitor sites and best practices for your industry. We develop a customized web development strategy and phases of production for you. This initial proposal will help ensure that our company and your project are a good fit. Be realistic with your expected project budget. Knowing your budget allows me to determine the scope of services I can provide to you and alternatives to meet your project needs. The proposal quote is valid for a limited time only, usually 7 business days.
How long will my website/print project take?
Short-term projects are usually completed within 3-5 business days, the time-frame for website development can range from 4-6 weeks to 3 months. It will vary by site needs and the content development process.
Before we begin, we will go over your specific project needs (starting with the Request A Quote form) to develop a realistic and efficient project phase outline.
What are your design rates?
A flat rate or an hourly rate will be determined by the scope of your project when you complete a quote request form.
- Flat Rate: A flat project rate is quoted for long-range projects such as website design, book, or catalog design. These projects include many individual services and the rate quoted applies to the project as outlined in its accompanying proposal. Deletion of services will not affect the project quote. Actual hours may marginally exceed the estimated hours without incurring additonal costs. It is important to note that changes after final approval, late payments or late delivery of content and feedback by the Client will result in additional fees (at the discretion of the designer).
- Hourly Rate: Our hourly rate is $60/hour, with a 2-hour minimum for all small projects. Applied to single items like a business card design, signage, supplemental web and print services, technical or programming assistance.
We will provide an estimate for your approval before we begin work. For phased development project like website design, and web/print packages, we will assess your needs individually and present you with a comprehensive project proposal.
What do you need from me to get started?
A contract and deposit are required before any project can commence. Depending on your project and goals, a high resolution logo, other images and text content should be submitted before I begin development for the most efficient collaboration.
High resolution images should be at least 150dpi, to scale and layered – layered Photoshop (.PSD), Illustrator (.ai), InDesign (.indd) files or a hi-res Illustrator PDF.
How do I update my own website?
