JK Chicago is the woodworking shop of Master Craftsman, Jeff Payne. Committed to sustainable practices, Jeff uses salvaged local woods and low-VOC varnishes. Scraps are used for other small projects or donated to places like the Evanston Art Center who use the wood shavings to fire their Raku pottery. Jeff’s highly original Asian-inspired and Mission furniture designs combine beauty, functionality and thoughtful inspiration. Jeff’s website has gone through several transformations since it was originally launched in 2007.

Most important for this website is that Jeff’s furniture look as awesome as it does in real life. Dynamic galleries, slideshows and process galleries help accomplish this. A blog and Google Calendar are also integrated for workshops and news.
